You Can Get a Pregnancy Test at HealthCARE Express — Here's Why It's Better
A faint line on a home test is one of the most stressful things to look at. Is it positive? Is it a fluke? Do you take another one? Most women don’t realize there’s a faster, more reliable option right around the corner.
HealthCARE Express offers pregnancy testing — including blood tests — at our clinics across Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. No appointment needed. Walk in when you’re ready.
Why Home Tests Leave You Guessing
Over-the-counter pregnancy tests work by detecting the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in urine. In theory, they’re straightforward. In practice, a lot can go wrong.
Testing too early is the most common problem. hCG levels are very low in the first days after a fertilized egg implants, and many home tests simply aren’t sensitive enough to pick it up reliably. The result: a faint line that might mean something — or might not.
Beyond timing, home tests can also be thrown off by diluted urine (especially if you tested later in the day or after drinking a lot of water), expired tests, or just poor test technique. Even reading the results window correctly can be confusing when packaging varies from brand to brand.
A negative result when you still feel like something is off. A faint positive that disappears on the next test. It’s a frustrating loop — and it leaves you without the answer you actually need.
What HCE Can Do That a Home Test Can’t
At HealthCARE Express, we offer two types of pregnancy testing:
Urine pregnancy testing — Similar in principle to a home test, but performed with clinical-grade reagents and read by a trained provider. More reliable than a drugstore test and interpreted in context with your symptoms and history.
Blood pregnancy testing (quantitative hCG) — This is the gold standard for early pregnancy confirmation. A blood test can detect hCG at much lower levels than a urine test, which means it can confirm pregnancy earlier — and with more precision. It also gives a numerical result, which tells your provider not just whether hCG is present, but how much. That number matters for confirming a healthy early pregnancy and ruling out other concerns.
“A lot of women come in after getting confusing results at home — sometimes a faint positive, sometimes a negative that doesn’t match how they’re feeling. A blood test takes the guesswork out of it. We get a clear number, and we can tell you exactly what it means.”
