As the holidays approach, many families in Shreveport and Caddo Parish struggle with food insecurity. At HealthCARE Express, we know that good health is built not only on medical care, but also on access to nutritious meals. That’s why our Shreveport clinic is hosting a month-long canned food drive throughout October to support local food banks and ensure no neighbor goes hungry.

Why Canned Food Drives Matter
“Hunger affects more than just the body; it affects the spirit, the mind, and the overall health of a community,” said Dr. Spencer Reynolds, of HealthCARE Express. “When families have access to consistent meals, children can focus in school, adults can work with more energy, and stress levels decrease. That’s why we’re proud to stand alongside Shreveport’s food banks this October.”
Canned goods are especially important because they are nutritious, easy to store, and simple to distribute. Collecting them in October ensures food banks are ready for the busy holiday season, when the need is greatest.
How to Participate
Dates: All month long in October
Drop-Off Location:
- HealthCARE Express – Shreveport, LA - 4526 Northport Blvd, Shreveport, LA 71107
What to Donate:
- Canned vegetables and beans
- Canned tuna, chicken, or salmon
- Canned soups, stews, and pasta
- Canned fruit in juice (not syrup)
- Shelf-stable tomato products and milk
Please avoid: glass containers, expired items, or perishable foods.
