Longview Hometown Hero: Olivia Secord

We would like for you to meet this week’s Hometown Hero: Olivia Secord!

Olivia has been part of our community since July 2011, and she opened her own business, Olivia Secord Agency, LLC, here on June 10, 2019. This is one of her biggest personal accomplishments, despite many hurdles and bullies trying to keep her down.

“I love the closeness of Longview,” Olivia said, “people genuinely care about others and accept you even if you are a transplant like me!” She is heavily involved in the community. Olivia is the vice president of the Longview Too Ambucs Club, is on the board of Longview Community Ministries, is the co-chair of the East Texas Walk to End Alzheimer’s, is a member of the Henderson Rotary Club, is on the Longview Chamber of Commerce’s REACH team, and is the Vice Facilitator Chair for the Leadership Longview Program. Wow! “I love any volunteer opportunity,” Olivia exclaims, “It is my heart to serve!”

Olivia just got married on February 28, 2020, to Michael Giddings (a salesman at Peters). Together, they have a beautiful blended family with 5 children Cole, Connor, and Calleigh Secord, and Jaden and Jayla Giddings. She takes being a parent very seriously, striving to bring her children up to be the best possible people she can help mold them to be. In her free time, Olivia loves to run and work out— especially if she can do those things with her family! She LOVES family workouts even though her kids don’t always enjoy the crazy workouts she makes them do.

Fun Facts!

If you could have dinner with someone famous, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?

Abraham Lincoln. He is my favorite president because he stood up for what was right, not what was socially acceptable. Integrity = success in my book!

If you could only take one thing to a deserted island what would it be?

My husband!
