Longview Hometown Hero: Nona Snoddy

Longview Hometown Hero: Nona Snoddy

We would like for you to meet this week’s Hometown Hero: Nona Snoddy.

Nona is a local educator. She has the awesome opportunity and responsibility of teaching the future. “There is nothing better than a former student coming back to say, ‘Thank you and I love you,’ or when you see them in the community and they introduce you to their family and explain how you impacted their life,” Nona said, “It’s a feeling you can’t explain.”

To Nona, what stands out most in the Longview community is the desire to take care of and support one another. She loves the sense of family and togetherness the city has. “It may not appear to the naked eye, but the good outweighs the bad in my community,” Nona stated.

In her free time, Nona enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her daughters who are grown and gone from the nest visit her frequently and come by with their friends and have get-togethers at her house. There are lots of laughter, storytelling, eating, and love during those times! Nona is proud of her two daughters and can’t imagine her life without them.

FUN FACT: It's a fact that I only have two daughters' but I am the surrogate mother/auntie of many. They would all tell you that I don't make a difference in how I love them. I love to help and be a blessing to the people I come in contact with, young and old.
