Bryant's Hometown Hero: Dr. Karen C. Walters

We would like for you to meet this week’s Hometown Hero: Dr. Karen C. Walters!

Dr. Walters has been the Superintendent of the Bryant Public Schoool system for seven years. She is also part of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators, Bryant Rotary, and Bryant Chamber Board of Directors. She also serves meals at the Alexander Community Center. “I love seeing our students and getting to meet some of their families,” she said. In her 27 years in education, Dr. Walters feels she has helped improve educational opportunities for students in the districts she has been part of.

When asked what her favorite thing about Bryant is, Dr. Walters responded, “I love that Bryant has such a hometown feel, but has the opportunities of a city.” The people in Bryant are so friendly and take care of each other as if it were a small town. Dr. Walters’ favorite local business is Gina’s Catering. She thinks the food is always great and she loves that Gina is such a strong supporter of Bryant Schools.

Dr. Walters feels blessed to have her family and that they are all so close. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, listening to music and podcasts, and reading. She also loves spending time at her parents’ farm in north-central Arkansas.
