Street Crossing Safety!

Halloween Safety

Posted on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 11:01 am

With the invention of cell phones, people have gotten more and more distracted and less focused on the world around them. Sadly, this even includes crossing the street! Sometimes, we forget the “look both ways” rule while we’re scrolling through Facebook or other social media favorites. This is especially dangerous for children when they’re out trick-or-treating at night on Halloween. Give them a warning before they go off to explore and collect their candy hordes!

Tell your children to put their electronic devices down and keep their heads up when they go to cross the street. Remind them to walk, not run, when crossing to be safer and to not risk the chance of falling or tripping. The same goes for you, too! Keep your head up and your attention focused when you’re out having fun with your kiddos!
